About

Matthew Lewis is an award winning photographer specialising in sport and portraiture. I was educated at Plymouth College of Art and Design and Reading College, specialising in sports photography. After graduating, I spent two and a half years working for an agency based near Leeds, where my work was published daily in National newspapers. Since leaving that agency, I have become a regular freelance photographer with Getty Images, and have been working for them for the last thirteen years. My work has taken me all over the world, photographing many of the worlds top sporting events from the Rugby World Cup Finals in Australia, Cricket World Cups, FIFA World Cups and Winter Olympics.

I like to work quickly and efficiently, appreciating the need for imaginative, unique and distinctive images. I am no generalist, but a specialist, who can adapt himself to any situation and client brief.

I have worked for clients such as: Adidas, AVIVA, BMW, HSBC, Barclays, Nike, European Athletics, FIFA, UEFA, The FA, ICC, IOC and have been published in all the national daily newspapers as well as many magazines.
